There are very few things that get my blood boiling more than the putting down of the men and women who defend our country.
Now I'm not stupid enough to believe that all of our troops are saints. They're not. But they have a job that was given to them by this countries government. A job that, whether it is right or wrong, they are obliged to perform. I personally do not agree with the invasion of both Iraq and Afghanistan but that is getting off subject.
What really riled me up today was a small group who call themselves the 'Muslims Against Crusade' decided to take it upon themselves to spew some shit about how all troops in Afghanistan will burn in hell, just as the rest of the country stopped to remember those lost in the first and second World Wars. These people, in essence, have pissed over everything that the men who fought for our freedom died for.
So I guess the irony here is, if World War 2 was won by Nazi Germany, then assuming Hitler got his wish, the entire world would be under Nazi-Christian rule. The right to free speech would have been abolished and those people who decided to abuse their right to free speech on Remembrance Day probably wouldn't have been around to do so.
To burn a poppy on the very day that it is remembered is quite frankly a disgrace to the very nature of this country. There just seems to be an abundance of hate coming from extremist Muslim's who seem to think that they have been done wrong by this country and yet some of these same people will take off the state to live an easier life.
I cannot imagine what it is like to lose a loved one in a combat zone. That is not just soldiers families I am talking about either. I am also talking about the poor soles whom the military have been sent out to protect. The innocent people of Afghanistan who lose family members because of combat is no less tragic. But for the MAC to choose that day, at that time to shoot off their mouths was not just disrespectful, it was down right disgusting.
I'm intelligent enough to know that these people's opinion is the minority. I know that not all Muslim people think like this. I have Muslim friends that I am certain are just as upset about this as the rest of us.
The simple fact is, that the rules apply to everyone, and if you don't like this country, or its rule...well, you know where the door is.
